Ashleigh is the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Bagboard, the new conscious shopping platform which empowers people to promote, spend and save with sustainable brands. The innovative concept, backed by Sky Ocean Ventures, puts consumers in control of advertising through the power of tech, simply by incentivising people to use (and reuse) eco-friendly paper smart bags, featuring campaigns from brands who are kind to people and the planet. Smart bags are currently available in selected London stores - instead of single-use plastic ones - and consumers are incentivised to share their reuse, or journey data, in return for a new digital currency to spend via the app.
During her time building the business as a female founding partner, Ashleigh has been deeply passionate about diversifying the male-dominated tech industry. She’s advocated and made space for women in senior leadership and management roles in the company, along with often male-dominated tech development roles, and has been proudly vocal about her female entrepreneurship and gender equality in a variety of publications and podcasts, including TechRound, StartUps Magazine, The Flex Network, Found & Flourish and Sustainably Influenced.
Most recently, Ashleigh was instrumental in supporting the business surpass its initial £300k crowdfunding target on Seedrs this summer (in the midst of a global pandemic, no less) with the total amount reaching over £600k. Together with her team, Ashleigh is now working to launch the Bagboard platform in London before expanding to other global markets.
