Holistic wellbeing is core to The Upside. One of our values, ‘Strong Bodies, Strong Minds’, is an everyday reminder of the connection between wellbeing and success at work.

Our people strategy 'energizing everyone everyday' is centered in wellbeing. It's been proven that when people work to their strengths, they’re more energized and happy than when they’re battling against weaknesses. With this insight, we developed a strength identification program. This has affected the way we resource projects and has enabled everyone to work more harmoniously and happily. Beyond our comprehensive healthcare and mental health support in our benefits package, we believe in the importance of continual education about wellbeing. For both Upsiders and our clients, we run regular education sessions such as ‘Breathwork’ - about the role of breath in the nervous system. We also aim to influence our clients and community too. On our podcast we interview experts including Bob Roth (founder of transcendental meditation) and on social channels we share innovations and wellbeing tips. A differentiating factor is our commitment one's emotional self. Activities to help us make space for our emotional self include ‘Clean Language’ and ‘inclusivity’ workshops to learn about communication without bias and judgement, and flexible policies such as adjusted hours to improve daylight-exposure during winter lockdown. Externally we’ve been recognized via our B-Corp certification of which our wellbeing program was a major component. Internally, it’s been recognized via our bi-annual employee survey - where our wellbeing focus was noted as the most appreciated aspect of our workplace.
