Yewande Ogunkoya is Media Planning Lead for ITV, as well as overseeing the planning teams on Peloton, the FT, Nando's and the IOC. Before joining Essence, Yewande held strategy and planning roles at Maxus and as a global WPP Fellow.
Yewande has had a fantastic 2020. An integral member of the ITV pitch team, she impressed with her superior planning knowledge and personal approach, and subsequently played a key role in onboarding ITV. Despite adding all of this to her 'day job', she did not skip a beat with regards to her existing responsibilities; her team remains heard and cared for and she has continued her role as tools adoption and training champion for the wider media planning team across Essence.
2020 also saw Yewande adopt another pivotal role with our media planning practice; leading the implementation of a new initiative to ensure every member of the team is contributing to our broader agency goals and beliefs, which range from driving agency growth to making more sustainable media investment decisions. Yewande also shares her wisdom as a mentor to four women within the WPP network and the 2020 LSE BME mentorship programme (where she studied economics), as well as being an Advocate for two junior Essentials.
Outside of Essence, Yewande is building her own company, Mummy's Muse, putting her brand growth plans into practice.
Yewande is a passionate leader, optimistic, determined and focused on achieving the best in everything she turns her hand to through hard work and creativity.
