Since joining Essence in 2018, Ali Reed has been instrumental in bringing world class brands to the business, developing Essence's unique culture and driving new and exciting initiatives to ensure Essential wellbeing.
In January 2020, Ali was promoted to Managing Director, UK, charged with overseeing all client relationships, new business, marketing as well as continuing to develop initiatives to drive diversity and inclusion.
Following the momentum of a stellar 2019, Ali has ensured that despite the pandemic, Essence has kept up the new business pace. Faced with virtual pitches and the prospect of lost chemistry, Ali reimagined client connections by sourcing innovative technology and building the excitement of pitch performance for online as well as in-person pitches. Her winning approach saw Essence UK land some of this year's biggest pitches including Sainsbury's, Zoopla, ITV, Vistaprint and Sainsbury's Bank.
Ali has also helped deliver improved client satisfaction scores across the board in 2020 and 100% client retention - despite the pandemic - by creating more team innovation and efficiencies through new joined-up and centralised processes - critical for responding in a fast-paced crisis.
Ali is committed to championing talent and culture; she leads Return on Women and Project Nolan, a new business initiative to find and grow rising pitch stars, whilst simultaneously acting as an ally for Essence Village, [email protected] and [email protected] She is an authentic and approachable leader and mentor, helping people learn and grow at all stages of their careers, from our entry level EMERGE programme to future male and female leaders.
