The last year has been a big one. I’ve won 9 awards for Iris including a D&AD pencil, with shortlists to come in Campaign Big, Drum Grand Prix and Immortal Awards. The big-hitter was Starbucks’ ‘What’s Your Name?’, which won C4’s Diversity in Advertising Award. This was a real passion project, and since launch, I’ve contributed to articles on diversity for LBB, Muse by Clio & Creative Brief. I was also a panellist at Out Leadership’s ‘Breaking Binaries’ event.

This is just one of the campaigns I’ve worked on in the last year. I led Nectar’s brand overhaul ‘Get Your Nectar On’, including a TV spot that shot Nectar to the top of the app charts. At the same time, we also made Haven’s most successful TV spot, ‘The Beach Boy’ (also award-winning). Other highs include making a proactive piece for Starbucks that encouraged customers to wear masks in store and picked up lots of industry attention, Pizza Hut’s global social purpose ‘An equal slice for everyone’, and Carex’s ‘Helping Hands’ Covid response ads.

But I’m a writer at heart and want to inspire love for the craft. So, I’ve set up writing masterclasses at Iris, where our experienced creatives share their know-how with juniors and people from areas of the business like SEO and consultancy. Also, since lockdown, I’ve started a ‘Creative Hygge’, getting the creative department Zooming every fortnight to share work, bond and learn from each other while we’re apart.
